Our Transportation team is looking for a graduate seeking to launch their career in highway engineering, bridge engineering, and project management. The position can be located within our Whitby, Markham, Mississauga, St. Catharines, or Waterloo offices.
This role is a great opportunity for a new graduate from a Civil Engineering program eager to learn and grow as a highway or bridge design engineer. The role will include a mix of design, engineering, and project management support ideal for a candidate looking to grow their career as a proficient highway engineer, and eventually a project manager.
Candidates’ career experiences may consist of:
• Successful participation in the delivery of a wide variety of transportation studies.
• Supporting traffic analysis for the life cycle of the project, including data collection, traffic volume analysis, capacity analysis using various software packages, safety analysis, recommendations for capacity and safety improvements, and report-writing.
• Supporting the Project Manager through the life cycle of the project including proposal preparation, project administration, record-keeping, cost and schedule tracking, and communications with clients and stakeholders.
• Collaboration in small and large teams. Integration with other engineering disciplines, engineers and design staff in the production of high-quality project deliverables.
• Preparation of reports and contract documents for review agencies, clients, and the public.
• Coordinating with sub-consultants, clients, agencies, and other stakeholders.
Candidate Qualifications:
• Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for launching a career in transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with analysis or design software such as Synchro, Aimsun, Vissim, Emme, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, would be an asset.
• Previous work experience in an engineering or contracting environment would be an asset.
