Who are we looking for?

GHD's Impact Assessment and Permitting Team is looking for an enthusiastic individual with environmental assessment planning and approvals experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Impact Assessment Business Group Leader, the successful incumbent will complete tasks including the following:
  • Conducting policy research
  • Drafting notices for publishing and coordinating mail out of correspondence
  • Drafting response letters to stakeholder comments
  • Leading report compilation and drafting text for summary documents
  • Coordinating public events like open houses, meetings, etc.
  • Preparing displays for open houses
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations for meetings
  • Coordinating environmental specialists
  • Reviewing sub-consultants reports and cross-referencing to policy and legislation guidelines
  • Attending meetings as required and preparing meeting minutes or reports
  • Undertaking proposal writing

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary education in environmental planning, environmental policy, environmental science, or a related discipline
  • Project experience in a variety of public and/or private sectors (e.g., municipal infrastructure, transportation, transit, waste, energy) is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with people (staff and clients) and a demeanor that reflects genuine interest and ability to assess a situation and consider what people will be interested in/concerned with is required.
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project Powerpoint)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Provincial and Federal Environmental Assessment legislation
  • Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
