Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a Payroll Officer to perform proactive support to the Finance Services function, by performing payroll tasks as required to support the Australian business and deliver services to ensure compliance with all company policies, internal controls, and procedures.
To ensure that tasks/transactions are processed in an accurate, timely and cost-effective manner in adherence to GHD applicable limits of authority, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Support the FS function by undertaking the duties assigned. Tasks will be assigned in adherence to separation of duties guidelines based on workload requirements
- Support the delivery of BAU Payroll Services and Payroll Improvement projects
- Provide input into and assist as required in the documentation of business requirements for system and process improvements
- Assist in preparation of all employee tax obligations and returns, including but not limited to PAYG/PAYE, payroll taxes, and superannuation/kiwisaver schemes, and being familiar with ATO, NZ IRD or other payroll requirements and filing processes of other countries supported
- Contribute to test plans, review of test outcomes with the Service Delivery and Operations teams and support the delivery of knowledge sessions once any process/system changes
- Support as required the preparation, investigation and management of ad hoc payroll reconciliations and monthly payroll balance sheet reconciliations
What you will bring to the team:
- Knowledge of payroll legislation as well as any core payroll, upstream and downstream processes
- business partner with an agile and growth mindset who is looking to take on a new challenge that requires capability in driving and delivering results and the ability to negotiate and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Effective communicator fluent with all types of stakeholders, including the technical teams
- Knowledge and experience of a HRIS and payroll system (ADP Global view) would be preferred but is not essential
- Experience in standard Microsoft Office applications and intermediate skills in Excel and Word applications
- Aptitude for numerical work and problem solving and high degree of detail and accuracy in all areas of work
Work schedule: Monday to Friday - 7:00 am to 4:00 pm - Hybrid
