The Team and the opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Product Owner to join our Technology Consulting BTA Product Team. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of client required products, ensuring that they meet the needs of their users/customers and align with their business objectives. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in Product Owner role, with a proven track record of delivering successful products. You should be a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator, and possess strong leadership and organisational skills. Your key responsibilities

The BTA Product team, you'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary and high-performing team of problem solvers with extensive experience helping organisations solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution in one or more of the following areas:

          • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business owners, customers, medium-large development teams, to define product requirements
          • Translate business requirements and user needs into clear and concise Features and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria
          • Prioritise and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the most valuable User Stories are delivered first and that the backlog is properly groomed and refined on a regular basis
          • Work closely with the development team to ensure a clear understanding of the product vision and requirements, provide guidance, and make informed decisions during the development process
          • Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance, gather user feedback, and use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and make informed product decisions
          • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, security, marketing, and sales, to ensure successful product launches and adoption
          • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team, facilitating communication and ensuring that expectations are properly managed
          • Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives, to drive the iterative development process and foster a culture of continuous improvement

  1. Skills and attributes for success

• 3-5 years’ experience working as a Product Owner within a consulting firm, industry or government organisation.

• Demonstrable experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum Framework preferred) - continuously reviewing the business needs, refining requirements, outlining milestones and deliverables, identifying and managing risks throughout the Sprints.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks including the development of relationships with Industry leaders and team members across all EY practices to serve client needs

• Experience in continuously refining and prioritising Product backlogs containing business value requirements and customer needs/pain-points

• Knowledge of prioritising and making value creating decisions based on understanding business objectives and market conditions

• Ability to lead a Product team from Ideation to development to launch

• A strong academic record including a third level degree, or equivalent, preferably in an IT related area.

• Experience operating in a fast paced, multi-vendor environment.

• Excellent understanding of the Scrum Framework.

• Ability to facilitate ideation, discovery and/or requirement gathering workshops

• Demonstrated experience in coordinating a medium-large cross functional Scrum team to develop a technical solution

• Demonstrated experience in participating in Sprint ceremonies as necessary
