THE OPPORTUNITY

We're excited to present an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Project & Solutions Manager to join our esteemed Storage Equipment Division (SED) team. Reporting directly to the divisional Director you will form part of the SED executive team.

SED specifies and delivers warehouse racking solutions such as ColbyRACK which has been manufactured in Australia for over 50 years. Ideally suited to a proactive project leader managing a small team and eager to leave their imprint and inspire innovation through process enhancements.

If you excel in dynamic environments, driven by a desire for excellence, and are eager to lead a boutique project team in deploying storage equipment projects for premier client sites, then this role is tailored for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee management of a boutique team of project engineers

  • Oversee the project management function, continuously improving workflows, communication and process tools

  • Provide technical design, drawing and estimating support to the sales function during the scoping stage

  • Review sales proposals for completeness and achievable outcomes

  • Provide project management services on orders and contracts to meet client requirements

  • Ensure compliance with relevant ISO procedures, including thorough contract review

  • Coordinate all aspects of the project, from initial customer order receipt to final completion and client handover

  • Prepare and manage project schedules until practical completion

  • Identify and initiate cost reduction opportunities in standard design and installation

  • Finalise layout drawings and issue works orders to manufacturing and sub-contractors

  • Facilitate communication among key stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, builders, and Dematic staff, to ensure seamless coordination of supply and installation

  • Implement safe installation procedures and regular QA inspection and feedback of works

  • Approve progress claims from sub-contractors

  • Maintain progress reporting and feedback to the Division Manager

  • Develop and maintain standards manuals and costings

  • Provide on-site supervision as required to ensure timely project deliveries

  • Ensure timely project delivery within allocated budget and according to agreed specifications.

Tasks and Qualifications:

ABOUT YOU

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Minimum 10 years project management experience within warehousing, industrial construction, or manufacturing industries

  • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics or Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Comprehensive understanding of design engineering processes

  • Proficient in project management programs, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to review and improve internal processes

  • Excellent communication, customer facing and negotiation skills

  • Expertise in maintaining cost & schedule controls within project deliverables

  • Ensuring compliance with both Dematic and statutory OH&S requirements

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites
